FAR ROCKAWAY — A Far Rockaway man was arraigned last week on charges he was driving drunk after a fight with his wife, allegedly causing his car to hit a lamp post, the Queens district attorney said.
James Grant, 52, was charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and consumption of alcoholic beverages in a vehicle after a police officer saw him allegedly slumped over his steering wheel while his car was on the curb and against a light pole Feb. 8, according to the DA.
The officer said he recovered a 40-ounce bottle of Budweiser beer from Grant’s car, the DA said.
Grant admitted he was drinking because he had an argument with his wife, according to the DA.
He was arraigned Feb. 8 and will return to court March 23.
