Bourbon Street celebrates 11 years

The drinks were cold and the music was hot as happy patrons celebrated the 11th anniversary of Bourbon Street – the taste of New Orleans on Bell Boulevard in Bayside –recently.

Owners Mark Boccia and Johnny Ryan put their heads together with Executive Chef Joseph Cannella and created a $32.95 prix fixe dinner that wowed the scores of friends and patrons who celebrated with them on Thursday, April 29.

From the enchanted appetizer to the molten chocolate cake with ice cream for dessert, diners throughout the eatery at 40-12 Bell Boulevard raved.

Among the happy crowd was Queens Supreme Court Justice Peter O’Donoghue. His verdict was: “They put together a four-course meal and everything was excellent.” Those at his table, which included New York State Insurance Superintendant James Wrynn and his wife, called the selections “exceptional.”

Mike Lewis and his six-piece jazz band also played Dixieland and Ragtime with passion and verve to let the good times roll, or as they say in New Orleans, Laissez les bon temps roulez.
