State Sen. Frank Padavan (R-Bellerose) has raised more money than former City Councilman Tony Avella in the hotly contested race for his seat this fall, while six contenders for state Assemblywoman Ann-Margaret Carrozza’s (D-Bayside) seat have brought in a combined total of nearly $300,000, according to state campaign finance records.
Padavan has received more than $104,000 in contributions, while Avella has raised more than $83,000, campaign finance records show.
Edward Braunstein, a legislative assistant for Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver (D-Manhattan) has raised an estimated $109,000 in his bid for Carrozza’s seat. Attorney Vince Tabone has the second-highest amount of contributions at $93,000.
The other candidates in that race include John Duane, a former assemblyman in the district, former police officer Rob Speranza and attorneys Steve Behar and Elio Forcina.
