FRESH MEADOWS — Police arrested a quartet of suspects who they said were trying to flee from a bank robbery.
Around 12:30 p.m. Saturday, an officer observed two men running out of a bank at 61-49 188th St. and get into the back seat of a car that was parked down the block, police said. The two men allegedly had just passed a note to a teller that demanded cash and made off with the money, according to investigators.
When the vehicle was stopped. The cash was recovered. The officer placed the four men, who were all from Brooklyn, under arrest, police said.
Careather Williams, 33, and Dwight Washington, 28, the two men who allegedly robbed the bank, and Lashawn Solomon, 18, and Ibn Abdul Muhammad, 24, who were inside the vehicle, were charged with robbery and criminal possession of stolen property, officers said.
