Pols visit Senior Center

Anthony Como and City Councilmember Eric Ulrich visited the Howard Beach Senior Center recently.

The Howard Beach Senior Center provides many activities for members. The center offers everything from bus trips, weekly dances, exercise classes, yoga, local shopping trips and mall walks to more relaxed activities such as pool, card games, crafts, a book club, bingo, movie days and many more activities.

“During economic troubles there should never be any discussions about closing senior centers or reducing important services provided to our senior population,” said Como, a Republican who is running for State Senate in November. “Instead, we should look to cut ineffective and wasteful programs so that our seniors have the services that they rely upon and deserve. I want to thank Councilmember Eric Ulrich for his hard work and support of the senior centers in his district.”

Como gave special thanks to director Isaac Albala, assistant director Judy Ascherman, program director Monica Ottomanelli and administrative assistant Rosalie Hawk for their hard work and dedication to the senior citizens of the community.
