More than 50 foreign films will be screened at the first Astoria/LIC International Film Festival to be held at The Secret Theatre, 44-01 23rd St., in Long Island City.
Films scheduled to be screened include “Polygamy” from Hungary, “Streetball” from South Africa, “Shooting for Democracy” from Bhutan, “Speakers’ Corner” from England and “Living on Your Feet” from Spain, among other works.
“This festival’s a forum for an independent-minded audience seeking non-formula plots, innovative stories and cultural insights,” said Dennis Cieri, the festival’s founder.
