‘Stuff the Bus’ event for food pantry

The Rotary Club of Southwest Queens has scheduled its “Stuff the Bus for Charity” event to help replenish the supplies of a local food pantry.

On Saturday, November 6, the Rotary Club will park a bus in the parking lot of Waldbaum’s, located at 156-01 Cross Bay Boulevard in Howard Beach.

During the event, members of the Rotary Club will be on hand to encourage patrons of Waldbaum’s to donate non-perishable food, cash, and Waldbaum’s gift certificates, which will then be donated to Our Lady of Grace Ministry of Care Services (“OLG”) food pantry in Howard Beach. The bus will be in the parking lot from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. (or until the bus is “stuffed”).

The Rotary Club of Southwest Queens is a proud supporter of the OLG food pantry. In addition to providing a monthly cash donation, the Rotary Club held a successful Pancake Breakfast in April for the benefit of the OLG food pantry.

The OLG food pantry, which provides food to over 100 needy families in the Howard Beach area, reports that they are in particular need of tuna fish and gravy.
