SHOP YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD

Black Friday is over, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday have all come and gone with their huge discounts and awesome sales. Some of you found some of the presents you wanted to buy for yourself, your family and friends.
Now, instead of waiting for more sales, bargains and items in short supply, why not shop locally.
The newly-created shopping day launched this year by Mayor Michael Bloomberg and American Express chair and chief executive officer, Kenneth Chenault, “Small Business Saturday,” was a great idea . . . it just doesn’t go far or long enough!
This week The Queens Courier is launching its Daily Deal. We will be emailing discounts of 50 to 90 percent from local Queens businesses. What a better way to shop locally and save money! Sign-up with Daily Deals at qns.com/discounts.
We think everyone in Queens should shop their local neighborhoods for bargains and specials. Our local merchants are there providing jobs and merchandise all year long – not just on one specially created Saturday in November.
Our neighborhood stores and shops need your business and they deserve your holiday business too. Every single local merchant stands behind their wares with warranties and return policies just like the big national chain stores.
So spend a few dollars where you live and help make this holiday season joyous for all.
