Share the love at Star Subaru

Star Subaru of Bayside is taking a national charity campaign one step further.
During the Subaru ‘Share the Love’ event, Subaru of America will donate $250 for every car sold to one of five charities of the customer’s choice: The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), Habitat for Humanity, Meals on Wheels, Ocean Conservancy or the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. Star Subaru will also take an additional $250 off the price of a purchased vehicle from now until the end of the campaign on January 2, 2011.
“This is a really nice promotion, especially during the holidays,” said Doug Filardo, sales manager at Star Subaru. “It’s a kind gesture.”
Over the last two years, nearly $10 million has been donated to charities during the ‘Share the Love’ event. Subaru is hoping to donate approximately $5 million this year. So far, Star Subaru – which has already sold 150 more cars than they did last year – has seen most of their customers donate to the ASPCA.
“Subaru owners are known to be pet lovers and they obviously care about the environment,” said Filardo. “Everything is green. We have no hybrids and they are still partial zero emissions. [Subaru vehicles] are the envy of the car industry.”
Those that wish to donate without purchasing a car should visit www.subaru.com/share or call 1-800-926-8293. Star Subaru is located at 206-26 Northern Boulevard in Bayside. Call them at 718-819-0100 or visit www.starsubaru.com.
