The holiday season officially began in Long Island City as community members gathered for the annual tree lighting at the corner of 50th Avenue and Vernon Boulevard. Councilmember Jimmy Van Bramer was on hand and wished the crowd “Happy Holidays” as Santa Claus greeted all the good boys and girls. – Steve Mosco
