JFK AIRPORT — A Florida man was arrested last week for allegedly using a fake ID while going through security, the Queens district attorney’s office said.
Alberto Grosso-Ortiz, 35, of Miami, was arraigned Jan. 3 on criminal possession of a forged instrument, according to the DA’s office.
Earlier that day, he arrived at Terminal 8 and during a screening with a Transport Securities Agency officer gave a California identification card, the criminal complaint said.
He allegedly told the officer, “I lost my Florida driver’s license. I needed an ID to rent a car. I paid $100 to get this card,” according to the criminal complaint.
The ID card had a typed signature and poor quality typeset, the complaint said.
