Are you a star?

The St. Helen Youth Group is currently recruiting for the first St. Helen’s Star IDOL.
Open to all teens in the community ages 13 to 18, auditions will take place every Friday in March in the St. Helen cafeteria from 9 to 11 p.m.
Contestants can showcase any talent – not just singing – and will be judged by a group of their peers.
St. Helen’s Star IDOL is run through the St. Helen’s Youth Ministry.
“We’ve got really good talent and we want to highlight it,” said Andrea Mercatante, moderator.
After the contestants have been whittled down, she said, their talents will be showcased sometime in April.
Then, in May, there will be a “no talent – talent show,” in which people just show up and perform.
At this time, Mercatane said, the teens who previously won the gold ticket will be highlighted.
Additionally, she said, she may be asked to perform at other events, in conjunction with other area groups.
