Burglar steals computer from Maspeth biz: DA

MASPETH — A 47-year-old man was arraigned last week for allegedly burglarizing a stairs factory in November, the Queens district attorney said.

Maurice Pearson, of 111th Avenue in South Richmond Hill, was charged Feb. 9 with burglary and larceny counts, the DA’s office said.

On Nov. 9, an employee of New York Builders and Stairs on Grand Avenue told officers that a man climbed a ladder to the second floor of the business, forced opened a window, entered the building and stole a computer, the criminal complaint said.

A red and gray work glove was left at the scene and the suspect was caught on surveillance cameras, the complaint said.

Pearson’s DNA was allegedly found in the glove by investigators and matched to a DNA sample that was in police records from a prior arrest, according to the complaint.
