I just heard about the town of Great Neck Village’s new controversial law that will ban smoking on sidewalks in front of businesses along and within 125 feet of a 1.3 mile stretch of Middle Neck Road.
I work on Middle Neck Road in Great Neck for Northeast Plumbing Supply and have experienced many people ditching their butts before they walk in and it seemed the smoke followed them in.
Second hand smoke endangers all of us. This law might be difficult to enforce, that’s why I think we all should be the smoking police and warn those who light up that it is against the law on Middle Neck Road.
I hope other towns take up this kind of law as well. I say bravo to Great Neck Mayor Ralph Kreitzman. Great Neck has clean streets and now will have cleaner air.
