Man beaten, robbed of phone in Laurelton: DA

LAURELTON — Three teenagers allegedly beat and robbed a man at the corner of Springfield Boulevard and 144th Avenue in Laurelton Feb. 14, according to the Queens district attorney’s office.

Jadel Jernigan, 16, of 135-39 229th St. in Laurelton; Dashawn Jones, 16, of 134-49 166th Place in Rochdale Village; and Kenyon Sultan, 16, of 114-40 147th St. in South Jamaica, allegedly attacked the victim at around 11 p.m., according to the DA.

Sultan asked the man for the time before allegedly punching him in the face and saying, “If you don’t give me your phone, I’m going to hit you again,” the DA said.

When the man refused, Sultan allegedly punched him again and then stole his phone, the DA said.

All three defendants then fled with the phone, but only as far as a McDonald’s about two blocks away, the DA said.

The trio was charged with robbery, the DA said.
