Shooting in Flushing kills one, wounds another

A man was shot and killed and another was injured, on Wednesday, March 16, at 10:50 p.m. in the rear parking lot of the Hanyang Super Market at 150-51 Northern Boulevard in Flushing, according to the police.

The deceased has been identified as Bernard Cho, 28.

One suspect was apprehended so far. Because he is a minor, details on the suspect could not be released, cops said. All parties, including the victims, had prior arrests and criminal records.

Cho was pronounced dead on arrival at Flushing Hospital after being shot in the torso. The other victim, a 30-year-old male, was also shot in the torso and brought to Booth Memorial Hospital where he remains in stable condition, said police.

Witnesses pointed out the suspect’s direction of flight, authorities said. Police then canvassed the area and found him hiding under a staircase. After witnesses identified the suspect, police arrested him.

Authorities are still investigating the incident.
