Bayside BID installs flags

With the long and weary winter in the record books, the Bayside Village Business Improvement District (BID) has decided to usher in spring with style.
Adding to the face-lifting and beautification of the district, the BID will line both sides of Bell Boulevard with American flags from 35th Avenue to Northern Boulevard, as well as the BID’s signature sailboat over the sunset logo banners. With the help of 12 sponsors – whose names will be displayed along the boulevard – the BID was able to raise enough funds to install 27 flags and is still accepting new sponsors.
“They look great,” said Gregg Sullivan, executive director of the Bayside Village BID. “Now that the flags are up, everybody is wondering how they can get involved.”
Those that sponsored the flags – Helms Brothers/Mercedes Benz of Bayside, Cinco De Mayo, Press 195, VIPizza, Bourbon Street, American Vision, Maggie Mays, Cascarino’s, NoNos, Bayside Milk Farm, Monahan and Fitzgerald New Golden Wines and Liquor and Community National Bank – will receive special promotions during upcoming spring and summer events in Bayside, which include arts and craft fairs, block parties and more.
