‘Top Women in Business’ set for May

The Queens Courier and Queens Business will once again recognize the achievements of women during the upcoming Top Women in Business Awards and Networking Dinner on Thursday, May 19, in addition to honoring New York City Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly with the “Best Man of the Year” award.

This annual event recognizes women who, in addition to making positive impacts in the business world, are also active in giving back to their communities.

Kelly first served as commissioner from 1992 to 1994 under Mayor David Dinkins and was later appointed again by Mayor Michael Bloomberg in January of 2002. In addition to having been a member of the New York Police Department for 43 years, past positions held by Kelly include U.S. Customs Service Commissioner; U.S. Treasury Department Under Secretary for Enforcement; Americas of Interpol Vice President; and was a Colonel in the Marine Corps Reserves.

Bombardier, TD Bank, PSCH Inc., Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care & Rehabilitation, Flushing Bank, Community National Bank, The New York Daily News, Con Edison and NY1 News will sponsor the event.

Top Women in Business will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. at Terrace on the Park, located at 52-11 111th Street. It will include a trade show, networking and an awards ceremony.
