Chamber hits homerun at Strawberry’s

It was a standing room only event for the Queens Chamber of Commerce during their recent business card exchange that took place at Strawberry’s Sports Grill in Douglaston. Attended by businesses from all around the borough, chamber members and non-members alike arrived with a common goal: to make solid business connections and increase each other’s bottom lines.

“Networking is the first step,” said Frank Iryami, a financial advisor for Raymond James Financial Services, Inc. “You have to make sure you follow up with all the people you meet. It’s all about being at the right place at the right time.”

While participants shook hands and exchanged business cards, they also enjoyed a buffet offered by Strawberry’s including pulled pork, barbeque ribs, macaroni and cheese, slider sandwiches and a floral arrangement donated by Cress Floral Decorators. While the evening wound down, Mets legend Darryl Strawberry, owner of Strawberry’s Sports Grill, greeted members of the chamber and customers enjoying their meals in the main dining area.

“As a new member to the Queens Chamber of Commerce we are delighted to be hosting this networking event,” said Sarina Law, events coordinator for Strawberry’s. “We are looking forward to being a part of this community.”

Just a night earlier, Strawberry’s won the “best entrée” award at the Queens . . . A Taste of the World gala for their Championship Chili.
