Cops drag six gunmen from under boardwalk: Police

ROCKAWAY BEACH — Six gun-toting men tried to hide under the boardwalk at Rockaway Beach after allegedly squeezing off a few rounds Friday, but police from the 100th Precinct yanked them out by their feet before slapping them with cuffs, according to the NYPD.

Officers heard gunfire near Beach 87th Street and Rockaway Beach Boulevard Oct. 7 around 11:30 p.m. and saw six men fleeing the scene, the NYPD said.

The officers watched as Jamel Bryant,16, of 51-24 Beach Channel Drive, Larry Ryan, 16, of 444 Beach 54th St. and Neil White, 17, of 409 Beach 54th St., all from the Rockaways; Tevonne Robinson, 20, of 167-05 Hillside Ave. in Jamaica; and Isiah Boyd, 17, and Darkell Carmichael, 23, of Brooklyn, crawled under the boardwalk, the NYPD said.

The officers then approached the six suspects, who were attempting to wiggle under the boardwalk, grabbed them by their legs and extracted them from underneath, police said.

Each was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, resisting arrest and reckless endangerment, the NYPD said.
