RICHMOND HILL — Police were on the hunt for a suspect who they said crashed and robbed the driver of a cab that he was riding in less than two weeks ago.

On Dec. 17, the 25-year-old suspect entered the livery cab at the corner of 93rd Avenue and 112th Street around 3:30 a.m. and placed the driver in a headlock, the police said.

The cab crashed into a fence a few blocks away and the suspect allegedly removed money from the driver’s bag, according to police.

The suspect, who was described as approximately 25 years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall and about 170 pounds, got away while the driver was taken to an undisclosed hospital for his non-life threatening injuries, police said.
