Rev. Tony Hinds of the Church of the Resurrection ignites the palms from last year’s Palm Sunday at a Feb. 21 Shrove Tuesday celebration at the Richmond Hill church. The ashes from the burned palms were distributed to churchgoers on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 22, to mark the beginning of the Christian season of Lent.
