The Stamford Center for the Arts/Palace Theatre will host the 3rd Annual Palace Gala on Friday, March 30, 2012 at 8pm with a benefit concert featuring Liza Minnelli. The proceeds from the March 30th concert will support the Stamford Center for the Arts Education Program. The program, designed for thousands of area youth ages 4-18, many of whom are from our area’s underserved population, provides students with lifelong learning opportunities. As part of the Gala, Ms. Minnelli will receive the Arts Legacy Award which has previously been awarded to Diana Ross and Dave Brubeck. Liza Minnelli is one of the entertainment world’s consummate performers. One of the few entertainers who has won an Oscar, an Emmy, a Grammy, and four Tony Awards, 2012 marks 40 years since the release of “Cabaret,” for which she won an Oscar. In film, on stage and in television, Liza has won critical acclaim, a multitude of fans, and recognition from her peers in show business, giving new dimension and credibility to the word “superstar.”

The evening begins with a VIP Gala Cocktail Party for all Sponsors at 6:00 pm at The Palace Theatre. Ms. Minnelli will perform on the main stage following the cocktail reception. In addition, Artwork from Jo-Ann T. Claybourne will be on display in the Sackler Gallery.

A limited number of Gala tickets at $350 are available, that includes the cocktail party, a show ticket and complimentary parking. Other Gala concert tickets are available at: $185, $110, and $95.
