Seventh-graders at St. Pancras Church in Glendale received the sacrament of Confirmation from Bishop Frank Caggiano of the Diocese of Brooklyn and Queens during a ceremony on Oct. 19 at the house of worship. The candidates for confirmation were both St. Pancras School students and youngsters in St. Pancras’ CCD program. Concelebrating the Mass with Bishop Caggiano were Msgr. Gregory Wielunski

City Council Member Karen Koslowitz was the keynote speaker at the Jewish War Veterans’ monthly meeting on Sunday, Apr. 22, at the Rego Park Jewish Center. Koslowitz updated attendees on various community issues including budget negotiations and the potential closing of the Beacon afterschool program at J.H.S. 190 in Forest Hills.
