Family and friends of the late Geraldine Ferraro gathered at the corner of Ascan Avenue and Austin Street in Forest Hills as a street was renamed in her honor on Sunday

Assemblyman Andrew Hevesi, City Council Member Karen Koslowitz, Assemblywoman Grace Meng and State Sen. Toby Ann Stavisky joined supporters for a rally outside J.H.S. 290 in Forest Hills last Tuesday, Apr. 3, to protest the proposed closure of the Queens Community House Beacon program at the school. As noted, the cutback is proposed in the mayor’s preliminary budget.
