Halloween came early in Kew Gardens for these young trick-or-treaters as Maple Grove Cemetery held a parade and pumpkin carving contest on Saturday

Melissa Betts, a senior at Christ the King Regional High School in Middle Village, was recognized as the 2011-12 Discus Award winner for her achievements in academics, athletics and community service. The Discus Awards is a national program which provides recognition and scholarship opportunities to all-around high school students.
