Extended Library Card Act Signed

City Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer was in attendance at City Hall last Tuesday, May 1, as Mayor Michael Bloomberg signed into law the expansion of the Library Card Act. Authored by Van Bramer, the new law requires city agencies which interact with young people at risk to make available library card applications for New York City’s three library systems. Van Bramer is joined in the photo by City Council Member James Gennaro, Queens Library President and CEO Thomas W. Galante, New York Public Library President Anthony W. Marx, Brooklyn Public Library President and CEO Linda Johnson and City Council Legislative Attorney Tai Meah.
