The Queens Pride Committee partnered with William Cullen Bryant High School in Astoria/Woodside and the Renaissance Charter School in Jackson Heights to prepare for this Sunday’s (June 3) Queens Pride Parade and Festival. As noted, students from both schools will serve as the “Pride Posse,” assisting in parade preparations along with volunteers from the committee. For their assistance, the students were treated to a backstage tour of the Broadway musical Wicked and watched a matinee performance on Sunday, May 27. As shown, the youngsters were joined City Council Member Daniel Dromm and Neal Stone, director of the Queens Pride Parade. The march will begin at noon at 85th Street and 37th Avenue in Jackson Heights, moves down 37th Avenue and ends at 75th Street. From there, the parade will disperse into the Multicultural Festival, which runs from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. and is held on 37th Road between 73rd to 77th Street.
