Ridgewood Students Earn Musical Awards

Young students at St. Matthias School who achieved high marks were recipients of Fuoco Family Music Scholarship Awards recently presented to them at a ceremony at the Ridgewood institution. As noted, the scholarships-funded through the annual Marge Fuoco Memorial Concert held annually at St. Matthias-were provided to students who maintained a grade average of 85 or higher, passed a music aptitude test and wrote essays on why they would like to study music. The scholarship winners, shown with Joe and Jeanette Fuoco of the Joe Fuoco Music Center in Glendale, were (in alphabetical order) Sheyla Battista, Melina Bilajbegovic, Delidy Cruz, Brandy DeLeon, Russell Goeller, Sara Israel, Lourdes Jaquez, Kaitlyn Jones, Kristin Jones, Shannon Jones, Mary Karroqe, Stephanie Liz, Emily Montano, Vasil Pashko and Erin Wengerter.
