FLUSHING — A young man who allegedly hit a septuagenarian who was walking near Kissena Park Saturday and then fled has been taken into custody, police said.

Officers discovered the 76-year-old man, whose name has not been released, lying in a wooded area with severe body trauma at 7:45 p.m. near Booth Memorial Avenue and 164th Street, police said.

Authorities discovered that a green 2007 Toyota Rav 4 SUV had been traveling southbound on 164th Street when it jumped the curb on the west side and hit the man, police said.
