Esl Hockey’s Offensive Explosion

Routs NE In 1st Game, Falls Short In 2nd

After dropping a doubleheader to the NE Insanity Minor Blacks, The Minor Empire State Legends split with the New England Insanity Minor Whites, winning the first game 8-3 and falling 3-2 in the nightcap.

In the first game, Matt Tatarian got his second win of the year, stopping 21 shots as the Minor Legends defeated the New England Minor Whites 8-3, stopping their three game skid.

After losing two to the NE Minor Black team, the Minor Legends answered back with an eight-goal outburst. Sean Beatly and Michael Napoli each netted two, as did William Villena (his first two of the season). Mike Napoli also added an assist.

Other Minor Legends who rippled the twine included Brian Rosen and Phil Cascio (his eighth to go with his team leading 20th point).

Tatarian lost his shutout bid late in the first as the NE Insanity Minor Blacks converted on the power play.

In the second game, both teams ended the first two periods tied 2-2, but a power play goal by the New England Insanity Whites four minutes into the final period was enough for the win. The Minor Legends had a chance to tie the game in with four minutes left as they were awarded a power play, but they couldn’t light the lamp.

Jonathan Berghorn took the loss despite stopping 25 shots. Minor Legends goals came for Sean Beatly and Napoli. For each of them, it was their 10th of the year.

The Minor Legends have three weeks off before they square off at home in Lynbrook against both the White and Black NE Insanity Minor Teams.
