Two firefighters were briefly trapped in a burning home before being rescued by their colleagues during a four-alarm fire in Williamsburg last Tuesday, Jan. 22, Fire Department sources said. Reportedly, the inferno ignited at around 2 p.m. inside a threestory home in the vicinity of Bedford Avenue and Norht Seventh Street, then quickly extended to an adjoining structure. Hundreds of Fire Department personnel responded to the scene along with the 94th Precinct and EMS units. After being pulled from the burning buildings, the trapped firefighters were taken by paramedics to a local hospital for treatment of injuries which were not life-threatening. No other injuries were reported. Five hose lines were used by firefighters to bring the blaze under control, an FDNY source said.
