Midville Bank Thief Still on Lam

Still searching for a disguised bandit who robbed a Middle Village bank last September, police have re-released surveillance camera images of the perpetrator in the hope that someone will recognize him. Authorities said the bespectacled crook in a red wig and a New York Yankees baseball cap used a note to swipe cash from the Cross County Savings Bank located at 80-10 Eliot Ave. at 2:50 p.m. on Sept. 28, 2012. The incident was reported to the 104th Precinct; there were no injuries. Law enforcement sources described the suspect as a white male between 35 and 40 years of age, standing between 6′- and 6’2″-tall and weighing between 150 and 160 lbs. with a thin build and pale complexion. In addition to wearing his facial disguise, the crook was seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. Anyone with any information regarding the caper or the suspect’s whereabouts that could prove helpful is asked to contact Crime Stoppers by phone at 1-800-577-TIPS, by text message to 274637 (enter information, then the code TIP577) or online at www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.
