Van Slams Into Astoria Scaffold

Flames destroyed a parked car at the corner of Seneca and Catalpa avenues in Ridgewood at around 7:15 a.m. on Sunday morning

Firefighters and police officers rushed to an Astoria construction site last Friday morning, Mar. 22, after an out-of-control van overturned and slammed into a scaffold, sources said. Reportedly, the accident occurred at around 7:25 a.m. near the corner of 28th Street and Astoria Boulevard. There were no reported pedestrian injuries. According to reports, the driver and occupants of the van fled before police arrived.
