SIX MONTHS LATER: Sandy leaves its mark on Queens

Superstorm Sandy ravaged parts of the Rockaways, Howard Beach, Hamilton Beach and Broad Channel on Oct. 29, 2012. The storm surge flooded homes, wrecked businesses and washed away cars as fires raged in several locations on the peninsula. Six months later, some areas appear to be much improved, while other places still bear the scars of the storm.
