The recent outlook from the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration for this upcoming hurricane season is, once again, predicting above-normal storm activity, with close to 18 storms between June 1 and Nov. 30.
After Hurricane Sandy’s destructive sweep of the Northeast coast, people living in this region need to be well-prepared, stock up on necessary supplies and have a plan in the event that they may need to evacuate the coastline.
Hurricanes are one of nature’s most awesome displays of destructive power and fury. While we cannot prevent them from occurring, we can and must be well-prepared to deal with their onslaughts.
Hopefully, we will not have any storms threatening the East Coast.
