The family of a Whitestone man killed last week during a double shooting at a Long Island company held a funeral Monday — the same day the body of the suspected gunman was discovered in the Hudson River north of the city.
The family of Zachariah Yong Jae Shin gathered for an emotional service in Flushing after the 25-year-old was gunned down by suspected shooter Sang Ho Kim, 63, the week before.
Authorities believe Kim walked into an East Garden City lighting firm called Savenergy Sept. 25 and Shin, an employee there, and injured the firm’s owner, John Choi, according to Nassau County police and an NBC report.
Authorities believe Kim, who lived in Fresh Meadows, had a business disagreement with the company, AP said.
Kim fled the scene in the wake of the shooting, and his white Honda Pilot was found the same day in Putnam County.
State park police came across the body at the foot of a bridge Monday, according to AP, and the body was then taken to the Rockland County Medical Examiner’s Office for identification, authorities said.
