A group of 10 artists and their teams came to Rockaway Beach on Friday, August 9 to battle it out at Creative Time’s Second Annual Sandcastle Competition.
First prize, a “‘gold” shovel, a bucket with a bottle of tequila and a $500 check, went to Jamie Isenstein for “Disappearing Sculptures;” second prize, a “silver” shovel and bucket of booze, went to Esperanza Mayobre for “Raft de la Esperanza”; and third prize, a “bronze” shovel and booze, went to Duke Riley for “White Castle.”
