St. Margaret Church in Middle Village and the New York Blood Center (NYBC) are teaming up for a blood drive this Sunday, Jan. 26.

As announced, the drive will take place from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Margaret Parish Hall, located on 79th Place south of Juniper Valley Road.

According to the NYBC, one pint of donated blood can help save the lives of up to three people. Moreover, 4.5 million Americans require blood transfusions each year while undergoing treatment for various diseases and conditions.

Eligible donors must be between 17 to 75 years of age (16-year-olds must have written parental consent; adults over 75 must have a doctor’s note); weigh at least 110 pounds; and be in general good health.
