Invaders Knocked

Armed Bandits Hit Bushwick Home

The new year got off to a scary start for a Bushwick man who was robbed by two armed bandits during a home invasion last Wednesday night, Jan. 1, police reported.

According to law enforcement sources, the incident took place at about 11:55 p.m. last Wednesday at an apartment located on Irving Avenue near Hancock Street.

Reportedly, a 25-year-old man responded to a knock on the door and was met by the two suspects, described by the NYPD as Hispanic males, one of whom brandished a gun.

Police said the bandits asked for an individual by name, who was not at the location; they then forced their way into the residence.

Once inside, it was reported, the crooks went through the victim’s belongings and removed cell phones, sneakers and a jacket.

After obtaining the property, law enforcement sources noted, the bandits fled from the scene in an unknown direction.

Members of the 83rd Precinct responded to the incident. The victim was not injured.

Despite a search of the surrounding area by various police units, no immediate arrests were made, authorities noted. As of press time Wednesday, the perpetrators remain at large.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by the 83rd Precinct Detective Squad, police said.
