RIDGEWOOD — The 104th Precinct urged the community to be alert following seven knifepoint robberies of women in Ridgewood over the past month.
Police said two men appear to be targeting women between 3 p.m. and midnight, sometimes following victims down the street and displaying weapons that resemble kitchen knives.
No one has been injured in the attacks, police said.
The 104th Precinct said the first armed robbery was reported Jan. 22 near 68th and Forest avenues.
Robberies near the corners of 60th Lane and 75th Avenue, 60th Place and Putnam Avenue and Summerfield Street and Cypress Avenue as well as on Decatur Street between Myrtle and 75th avenues followed, according to cops.
Officers last responded to an armed robbery near the intersection of Grove Street and Forest Avenue Monday, the 104th Precinct said.
Officers said they believe the two suspects are white or Hispanic, with one about 5-foot-4 and the other around 6 feet tall.
The pair may be wearing something to cover their faces, the 104th Precinct said.
The precinct asked anyone with information about the incidents or suspects to call 718-386-3004.
