Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio, leader of the Diocese of Brooklyn and Queens, honored Christ the King Regional High School in Middle Village as the top blood donor throughout the diocese. As noted, the high school led all other Catholic high schools in the two boroughs last year with 287 pints of donated blood. Christ the King partnered with the New York Blood Center for a series of drives that helped more than 800 patients in need. Bishop DiMarzio is pictured presenting a certificate of appreciation to Christ the King President Michael Michel. The school’s next blood drive is Wednesday, Apr. 16, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 68-02 Metropolitan Ave. Those interested in donating may call Alice Wenz at 1-718-366-7400, ext. 244, for further information.
