KEW GARDENS — An embattled attorney found himself in need of a good lawyer when he was charged with stealing more than $200,000 from his clients, the district attorney’s office said.
Percy Randall, 58, allegedly stole amounts ranging from $6,000 to $138,000 from five clients he represented in real estate deals and a divorce between May 2011 and October 2012, the DA’s office said.
Randall had his license suspended at some point in 2011, but the reason for the suspension was not clear, according to the DA.
All told, Randall allegedly filled his pockets with $206,000 before he was arrested, charged and arraigned March 14 on nine counts of grand larceny and practicing law without a license, the prosecutor’s office said.
