In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy

The School Sisters of Notre Dame based in Woodhaven held an early Mardi Gras celebration last Wednesday, Feb. 26 at Roma View Caterers in Howard Beach. During the celebration of “Fat Tuesday”-the holiday immediately preceding Ash Wednesday, the start of the Christian season of Lent-guests Clorinda Antonucci and Nick Mascia were crowned the respective queen and king of the local Mardi Gras festivities. The royal pair is pictured with Assemblyman Mike Miller and City Council Member Eric Ulrich.
