Women’s Leaders Hold Court In F.h.

Rep. Grace Meng (at far left) and prominent women around Queens held a forum at the Forest Hills library during a Women’s History Month celebration held by the legislator on Monday, Mar. 17. The program focused on the national economic agenda for women and families, including legislation to provide equal pay for women and offer affordable access to health and child care. Joining Meng at the celebration were (in alphabetical order) Quenia Abreu, president and CEO of the New York Women’s Chamber of Commerce; Karen Cacace of the Legal Aid Society’s Employment Law Unit; Leslie Grubler of the United New York Early Intervention Providers with Parents as Partners; Ann Jawin, chairwomen of the Queens-based Center for the Women; Andrea Ogle of the Assigned Counsel Association of Queens Family Court; Andrea Ormeno, director of the Queens Women’s Business Center; Zenith Taylor, president of the Queens County Women’s Bar Association; and Adrienne Verrilli, associate vice president for communications at Planned Parenthood of New York City.
