The Center for the Women of New York will hold its 27th annual luncheon in Douglaston this weekend to honor Queens leaders from a number of professions.
The event will take place noon Saturday at Douglaston Manor, at 63-20 Commonwealth Blvd. A networking event will kick off the ceremony before lunch is served, and awards will then be presented to men and women whose work has had a positive impact on the borough.
Borough President Melinda Katz and NY1 anchorwoman Cheryl Wills are expected to be honored as Women of Distinction.
The center will also hand out Women in Leadership Awards to seven recipients, as well as Good Guy Awards to eight men.
The luncheon will also include a silent auction, raffles and musical entertainment by Bill Gati.
Tickets for the event cost $125 each and can be purchased at cwny.org or by calling the center at 718-793-0672.
