Cuff Woman for Attacking Teen Girl

Allegedly Assaulted Jilted Lover In Ridgewood

Police arrested a 20-year-old woman who allegedly attacked a teenage girl-an apparent former lover-in Ridgewood on Sunday morning, May 4, it was reported.

Law enforcement sources identified the suspect as Wendy Alonzo.

According to information from the Queens District Attorney’s office, the trouble began at about 9:20 a.m. Sunday morning, when Alonzo allegedly called the 16-year-old girl and made verbal threats.

Reportedly, the victim hung up, but Alonzo allegedly called her repeatedly thereafter.

A short time later, police said, Alonzo allegedly arrived at the victim’s Ridgewood residence and attacked her, grabbing her by the throat and causing several lacerations.

Officers from the 104th Precinct responded to the incident and arrested Alonzo. The victim reportedly suffered minor injuries.

During questioning, authorities said, police learned Alonzo allegedly had been in a two-year relationship with the minor and previously engaged in sexual relations with her.

Alonzo was taken into custody by P.O. Jared Ock of the 104th Precinct and charged with third-degree assault, sexual misconduct, sexual abuse, aggravated harassment, endangering the welfare of a child and harassment.

According to court records, Alonzo was arraigned the following day in Queens Criminal Court before Judge Suzanne Melendez, who released her without bail. She is scheduled to return to court on June 11.
