The Triangle Fire Memorial Association recognized five members of the community during a recent ceremony at Christ the King High School for their efforts to keep the memory of the victims of the 1911 Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire alive during the organization’s annual reception. The association is dedicated to preserving the memory of the 146 victims who lost their lives in the blaze that broke out on Mar. 25, 1911, at the Triangle Factory, located in lower Manhattan. This year’s honorees included Dan Austin, Jr,; Veronica Cokley; Lou Miano; Dr. Thomas Mortillaro; and Paul Salerni. Former State Sen. Serphin Maltese is among those pictured.
