Following a ceremony at Whitestone Memorial Park, at 149th Street and 15th Drive, the Whitestone Memorial Day Parade marched through the streets and concluded at the park. Dr. David Copell, a Korean War veteran, served as the grand marshal of the event, which drew U.S. Rep. Steve Israel, state Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli, city Comptroller Scott Stringer, state Sens. Toby Stavisky and Tony Avella, Assemblymen Ed Braunstein and Michael Simanowitz, Queens Borough President Melinda Katz and Councilman Paul Vallone.
