SPRINGFIELD GARDENS – Police were investigating a multiple stabbing that left one man dead and another man in custody, authorities said.
The incident occurred Wednesday at 146-15 179th St. around 6.38 p.m. in Springfield Gardens, the NYPD said. According to the police, the suspect stabbed a 46-year-old woman and the man who died in the torso before stabbing himself in the leg.
The victims were taken to Jamaica Hospital, where the 25-year-old man was pronounced dead. Police said the other victim was listed in stable condition at the medical center.
The suspect was also taken to Jamaica Hospital, where he was in stable condition, the NYPD said.
The police did not immediately release the identities of the victims pending family notifications.
The investigation was ongoing and the charges against the alleged attacker were pending as of Wednesday night.
